Artist Bio
The artist has been residing full-time in Florida since December 2023, having moved from Michigan after many years of artistic exploration and professional engagement. Born and raised in Macedonia, the artist’s journey in the arts began in a family of renowned artists, with influences spanning Europe and Asia. Sanja’s early exposure to art, especially through a father celebrated for his work across continents and a mother who dedicated her life to artistic endeavors, laid a solid foundation for a lifelong passion for creativity.
With over two decades of experience, the artist has developed a unique practice that marries the ancient techniques of conservation and restoration with modern abstract forms. Specializing in the restoration of art paintings, icons and frescoes, the artist’s work is deeply rooted in tradition, yet it boldly explores contemporary themes of nature, emotion, and human connection. The artist’s solo exhibitions, including the recent group exhibition “Ocean Tales Before Dawn” in Orlando, reflect this duality, blending the serenity of the ocean with the complexity of human emotions.
In recent years, the artist’s focus has shifted to exploring the interplay of nature and human experience, using the ocean as a metaphor for unity and shared humanity. The artist aims to create pieces that evoke a sense of tranquility and depth, while also encouraging viewers to reflect on their own connections and divisions.
Chulakovska’s commitment to conservation, combined with a deep understanding of traditional and modern artistic practices, continues to inspire works that resonate with audiences both in Florida and beyond.
